Baoshan silicon metal output rises 30% YoY in Jan-Aug

China's Baoshan posted a 7.8% year-on-year increase in the added value of industrial output by above-scale enterprises in January- August 2025, accelerating by 0.1 percentage points from the first seven months. Mining led the growth with an 84.9% surge, according to the local statistics bureau.
From January to August, Baoshan produced 243,000 tonnes of industrial silicon, up by 30% YoY, and the production of monocrystalline silicon and polysilicon stood at 31,600 tonnes and 56,200 tonnes respectively, down by 13.3% and 39.8% YoY.
