On April 4, China announced its decision to impose an additional 34% tariff on all US-origin imports, effective from April 10, 2025. This move serves as a countermeasure against US tariff threats.
According to a notice by the Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council, goods that are shipped from the place of origin before 12:01 p.m. on April 10, 2025, and are imported between 12:01 p.m. on April 10 and midnight on May 13, 2025, will not be subject to the additional tariff.
On April 2, the U.S. government announced the imposition of "reciprocal tariffs" on Chinese exports to the United States. This move violates international trade rules, seriously undermines China's legitimate rights and interests, and represents a typical act of unilateral bullying. It not only harms the interests of the United States itself but also threatens global economic development and the stability of supply and industrial chains.
China urges the U.S. to immediately cancel its unilateral tariff measures and resolve trade disputes through consultation in a spirit of equality, mutual respect, and reciprocity.
