On November 15, Waffer Technology Corporation inaugurated its magnesium-based lightweight materials innovation center and also launched a semi-solid magnesium alloy application center in the Ma'anshan Economic Development Zone. Five forming units, including the world's first and largest 7,000-ton dual-injection magnesium alloy molding machine (HMG7000U) developed by Haitian Zhisheng Die-Casting Equipment Co., Ltd., have now been installed and put into use.
Since their partnership began in 2021, Waffer has brought in more than 20 die-casting and magnesium molding machines from Haitian Die-Casting. The new joint molding and testing center, co-developed by Waffer, Haitian Die-Casting, and Chongqing University, will support R&D on magnesium components for vehicles, communications equipment, high-speed rail, and energy storage.
The arrival of the HMG7000U breaks a key bottleneck in large magnesium alloy forming. It supports semi-solid molding of large integrated parts such as vehicle frames and door inner panels, helping shift magnesium alloys from small components to mainstream large structural applications.
